Assistance with transportation and shopping
Assistance with transportation and shopping is available to anyone with a loss of physical or cognitive autonomy who requires assistance to leave their home to attend appointments or perform certain tasks.
Transportation assistance can take the form of accompanying the person to a medical appointment, a leisure activity, or simply to a location of their choice. The caregiver can use their own car, the client's car, a taxi, or public transportation. During the appointment, the caregiver can accompany the person receiving care to ensure their safety, if necessary.
When it comes to shopping assistance, the caregiver may accompany the person being cared for to the grocery store or market, or simply assist with placing an online order. Other related tasks may include helping with planning a grocery list or putting away groceries.
Please note that our Transportation and Shopping Assistance service is intended for clients with weekly and planned needs. It is generally integrated into our full range of home care services, including meal assistance and light housekeeping . In addition, it can be combined with general support, assistance with exercise and staying active , activities and discussion, and cognitive stimulation . Amika can also offer a 24/7 presence and continuous monitoring service .
Our rates vary depending on the length of your visit and the geographic area. Whether you need our services for an hour or for entire days, our team of caregivers is here to support you.
