Transportation and shopping assistance
Transportation and accompanying assistance while shopping are services available to anyone who experiences physical and/or cognitive loss of autonomy. Our services include accompanying individuals to medical appointments, leisure activities, or simply taking them to a destination of their choice. The Caregiver can use their own personal vehicle, the client's vehicle, a taxi, or public transportation. During the appointment, the Caregiver can accompany the older adult to ensure their safety, if deemed necessary.
Regarding shopping assistance, the Caregiver may accompany the individual to the grocery store or market, or even assist with effectively placing an online order. Other related tasks can be performed, including help with grocery list planning or putting away groceries.
Please note that our transportation and shopping assistance service is intended for clients with recurring weekly and planned needs. This area of assistance typically integrates with our more comprehensive range of home care services, including meal preparation and light housekeeping. Additionally, it can be combined with assistance with exercises and staying active, activities and discussions, and cognitive stimulation. Amika is also prepared to offer live-in care services.
Our rates vary depending on the duration of the visit and the geographical area. Whether you need our services for an hour or entire days, our team of Caregivers is there to support you.
